This site has been created by a group of concerned families who care about their kids and the quality of the schools and communities in Vienna. 

We were formed in response to the Fairfax County School system’s proposals to re-district our neighborhoods -- just 120 students -- away from James Madison High School (JMHS) pyramid in Vienna to South Lakes High School pyramid in Reston.

We are calling for everyone to become involved in the following ways:

1.Email or write the entire school board and the Board of Supervisors with a call to "Save Our Schools."  No redistricting proposal should be passed without careful cost-benefit analysis.

2.Attend the public hearings to visibly support the Madison Island and to oppose to the boundary proposal which moves us.

3.Email or write the principals of the Wolftrap, Thoreau and Madison High School to ask them to support the call to leave us intact.  Moving students from the island threatens these schools with a loss of funding for programs and for teachers.

Redistricting is an annual event in Fairfax county and next year what happened to our community could happen to yours.  The school board needs to develop and support good policies and stay away from the bad politics that cause our schools to fall behind. Please join us as we work to support the education of our children and maintain our ties to our Vienna community.
